Our Pre-kindergarten year prepares children for
success in Kindergarten

Skills for this age we work on:

  • tying shoes
  • age appropriate responsibility--making choices
  • problem solving
  • social interactions
  • becoming more independent
  • writing names
  • self-help skills
At this age, they are so eager to be "grown up." That's why they help with everything we do in the classroom.  They are learning
to be responsible for themselves, listen to directions, and see that every one of their actions has a consequence--good or not-so-good.

Pre-K Routines
  • eat family style, kids pass food, serve themselves
  • ask to be excused from the table
  • say "please" and "thank you"
  • get their own pillow and blanket out, put everything away after rest times, put shoes on and tie them
