Feb.21 at 10:00 a.m. Schowalter Villa's Mardi Gras Parade will include children's classes pairing   up with the grandparents to travel the hallways of the Villa.  Villa neighborhoods are selecting   a king and queen this year and wearing costumes.
March 31,  5 - 7 p.m. annual Pig Roast.  New this year The Bug Lady is coming with her many         critters that she brings out to see and touch.
April 6 childcare center is closed for Good Friday.
April 23-27 is Parent Teacher conferences.
   
 Recent memorable activities:
   
Hoyts family donated new buggy.                         Villa residents love to see babies.

     
Another advantage of being connected physically to Villa is opportunity to take tour of kitchen and laundry room.


PreKindergarten class made lovely Christmas centerpieces (above) and by delivering them to residents (instead of keeping them for themselves) children were able to express , "It is fun to share."  Residents were good at expressing gratitude to the children.  Both generations were blessed by this intergenerational activity.

 At Thanksgiving, we had pilgrims and indians roam the hallways.  Preschool 2 class
  

This Fall we made the most of the lovely weather and outdoor opportunities. 

     
 Preschool 1A enjoys outdoors daily on their own playground and in walks to arboretum or college.


Indoors, classes are learning to love the grandparents their class is matched with for intergenerational time.
   




  
Preschool 2 created a patriotic parade in Villa during July.    Another day we played dress up with Grandparents.

     
     We spend much of the morning outside before the heat of the day hampers us.
Special summer intergenerational events :  June 14 Villa residents  fished at Lake Vista.
and kids touched worms and fish-- if they wanted. 
    June  17 Villa Car Show at front entrance of Villa allowed kids to hunt for various shapes of headlights plus see other variety in the antique cars and tractors.  
These events were great fun bringing the generations together.
